The Budapest Forró Festival is a three-day international gathering that celebrates forró, a cultural expression from the northeast of Brazil that combines music and couple dance.

 

Present in Hungary since 2018, the Forró Budapest community has been growing and evolving ever since, building an open and welcoming community connected through dance. Together with this community, the idea of creating a dedicated festival was born - and this year that dream finally becomes reality.

The festival brings together live music performances, DJ parties, workshops with Brazilian dance teachers, and plenty of dancing. It takes place on Margit-sziget, a green island in the middle of the Danube River, as well as in the spacious indoor halls of Kristály Színtér and the outdoor café area, creating a varied and open setting throughout the day and night.

The festival is built as a space for cultural exchange, diversity, and freedom of expression.
